I'm Dylan. I make documentary-style videos for the people who build the Triad.

"We specialize in documentary-style content. Content that is aimed at relatability — brand story videos, videos that people can relate to, that really drive personality and passion."
Dylan Smith · From the studio brand film

I grew up in Greensboro. Earned my Eagle Scout, then my Associate degree in Photojournalism from Randolph Community College. I picked up a camera because I liked the way a real, unscripted moment looked through a lens — and I've spent years chasing that feeling inside manufacturing plants, on construction sites, and across nonprofit events all over North Carolina.

The way I see it, a good brand video isn't a commercial you tolerate. It's a conversation your buyer has with your best client — before you ever pick up the phone. That's what I mean when I say documentary-style: real people, real answers, and a camera that stays out of the way long enough for the truth to land.

"People actually feel like they know you, they know the business, and they now have that trust built — before you even meet with them."
Dylan Smith · On what a good brand story does

I sit down with businesses first to find the opportunities where video will actually move the needle. I ask about your sales calls, your objections, the emails you can't get answered. I map exactly where the film lives before we pick up a camera. Strategy first. Cameras second.

I work mostly solo, with a small crew for larger productions. That means I show up on your floor without a ten-person circus. I move faster, listen harder, and I'm the one you talk to from the first call through final delivery. No handoffs.

"I honestly will challenge any establishment that thinks they don't need video. If I sit down with you, I could find an opportunity where you invest in a video and it saves you time and money."

How I work

A short list of things I won't compromise on.

Strategy comes before cameras.

If we can't articulate exactly where a video lives in your business, we're not ready to shoot it.

Real people, real answers.

No scripts. No stiff monologues. I interview like a journalist and edit like an editor.

You get me, not a project manager.

First call to final delivery. One point of contact. No agency layer between you and the person holding the camera.

Show up on time, on budget.

Eagle Scout habits die hard. If I say Tuesday at 8, I'll be there Monday scouting.
